About

Hi, my name is Mark J. Nelson. I am a high school math teacher along with owning a couple of businesses. My wife and I have a real estate investment company that rents out single family homes and rehabs home to resell. We also have an online business referral system and my son and I partner in an internet marketing company.

I graduated from college with undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and in Secondary Education - Mathematics. When I graduated I had an opportunity to go into a retail hardware business with my dad and two brothers. This was just a golden opportunity. Things went great until the retail world changed. The big box retailers found our little towns.

I decided to go out on my own and bought a cleaning franchise. Typically we cleaned buildings after some kind of a disaster usually fire damage or water damage. It was a profitable business but after a couple of years I decided this was not where I wanted to spend my career. At this point I went into the financial service industry. I went into homes and taught families about finances and how to become financially independent. I totally enjoyed this industry and felt I was really helping families.

As my kids grew older I volunteered to coach athletic teams, mentor in schools, and whatever was available to help kids. At this time in my life, I felt a calling to go back and teach. There were so many kids that needed help. When I went back to teaching I went on and got my masters in Education Leadership thinking I would end up my career being in school administration.

Even though I enjoy teaching math I have always thought I need to teach my students more. Kids and families still need help in learning about money. This has become my passion.

I want to educate families and young students about money, financial products, business, real estate, and also having the mindset to take control of their lives.
