MLM Success Secrets Revealed

This was sent to me by my Team Leader Rob Fore. Thought you would enjoy it.

Ted O’Shannessy, is a leader on our Australia SOC team.

He recently asked a “mate from his past” how to put 200 people in a room. Because, some years ago, Craig used to do it regularly to promote his business with another company.

Craig spent two hours mentoring Ted and then sent him the following letter by email.

What It Takes to Make It in Network Marketing

Dear Ted,

People often ask what it takes to be successful in Network Marketing. I have a short, simple answer:

All you got.

Fortunately it doesn’t take more than all you got. But it does take all you got. In fact, Ted, I’ll suggest this business will be the hardest one you’ll ever do, period.

And I’m qualified to make that statement. I’ve worked in the corporate world, run distribution companies, started a retail chain, Internet marketing, information entrepreneur.

I’ve consulted with literally hundreds of other entrepreneurs in all kinds of businesses. And can assure you, Network Marketing is harder than all of them!

Why?

Quite a few reasons.

First, the essence of the business is leadership development. Not an easy thing to learn. Or teach. This takes tremendous people skills.

Because of that, MLM requires large amounts of personal growth and self-development. And working on yourself is tough work!

Other businesses you can get by on just skill, just talent or just money. Here you need heart. Guts. And love.

With Network Marketing, you have to go all in. You can start it part-time, you can start it with a limited commitment, you can start it not even believing it will work.

But to succeed at it, at some point you’ll have to move from kindergarten to the big leagues. You’ll have to go from a night or two a week, to four or five nights a week. You’ll have to commit and you’ll have to develop belief.

Here’s why, Ted…

You can’t really get anyone into our business. It doesn’t work that way. You can only commit, develop that belief and become so passionate that people want to be a part of what you’re doing.

MLM is like golf. The only person you compete with is yourself. The enemy isn’t other companies. It’s not negative prospects. And it’s not government regulation, high prices, or backorders. The real enemy is your doubts and fears. It’s what’s between your ears.

Most people today doubt their beliefs and believe their doubts. You have to be different. And that means daily self-development. Keeping your dream in front of you. And making sure your dream is bigger than your fears.

Yeah, you can probably win a free cruise, get a bonus car and rake in some nice bonus checks. That would probably motivate you to go to a job every day. That would probably motivate you to do any one of those other businesses I named. But it’s probably not enough to get you to do Network Marketing.

Because our business is a lot tougher than those. Our business means contacting prospects, driving to work with long distance lines, and sacrificing lots of pleasures early on for the long term. It means really getting out of your comfort zone and growing.

So your dream has to be even bigger. It has to include other people’s dreams. Taking your eyes off of just yourself and looking how you can contribute in a meaningful way.

It’s going to mean facing rejection and maybe ridicule. Facing your fears. Dealing with dropouts and no shows. Negative publicity, misperceptions and adversity.

We know every adversity has in it the seeds of a greater opportunity. But that opportunity is not automatic! It is there only if you make a conscious choice not to be a victim; a conscious choice to learn the lesson and find a new door to walk through. And remember, every room has a door.

Network Marketing is HARD. So why do it?

Because it will be the most rewarding business you ever do in your life. Yes it can give you those trips, car and bonus checks; it can get you free. But it also does so much more!

The confidence you develop, the skills you learn, the satisfaction you gain are priceless. Who you have to become to be successful in our business makes it all worth it.

And the joy that can only come from contribution!

When your new team member calls you screaming with excitement because they’ve sponsored their first person. The breakthroughs you witness when someone buys their first suit, makes their first presentation, or calls that prospect that scares them beyond measure. When one of your people conquers their fear in any way, it will bring you rewards you can’t get anywhere else.

In our business you reach success by helping other people reach success. That is what gets you up at 6 am to do self-development, that is what gets you to pick up the phone, that is what keeps you awake driving home at 2 am from a meeting for a new person on your tenth level.

So yeah, it doesn’t take more than you got. But it does take all you got. Just know it’s worth it.

So find someone you respect and make them a promise that you will do what it takes to win. Ask them to hold you accountable. Then make yourself the same promise. After that, make a public declaration below in the comments. Are you up for that?

So mate, keep this and come back to it whenever the seed of doubt creeps in.

Start EVERY day with positive self-development. Don’t answer your phone, answer the door, or leave the house until your consciousness is vibrating at thermonuclear level. Look in the mirror and tell yourself you are worthy.

Then go out and be amazing!

Rare footage of Napoleon Hill speaking on the main tenants of his timeless, best selling book, “Think and Grow Rich”. Napoleon Hill is one of the fathers of the success movement which started gaining popularity in the middle of the 20th Century. These psychological principles predate date modern times and were only recognized by the very successful, wealthy, or those willing to open their minds to a new way of thinking.

These principles have been studied, followed, and imitated by many other respected leaders in the field of finding business success through forming an attitude and way of thinking and living your life that is conducive to attracting and creating success and wealth in your life.

Do you ever think about the POWER of taking ACTION?

It got me thinking about Acting on your PROMPTINGS or your GUT FEELING, or just ,doing things NOW.

Their is such a power in acting on a prompting or acting on a gut feeling. Making a Decision. Not a hasty or decision but a DECISION that I am going to do this now.

In business, sometimes their is no tomorrow. You have to make decisions on the spot. You know when decisions are right.

As you start your new business venture, whether your business is network marketing, a franchise, or some home-based business. The first thing everyone wants to do is to learn the how to of the business.

The truth of the matter is that you really need to establish your “Why” first. Why are you doing this business.

When I started my current and last venture, my “Why” was the first thing I wrote down. I needed to know why I was doing this when the times got tough and things were not going the way I wanted them to.

In network marketing it is so easy to say well this works for only some people. I am not the type to make this happen. Or whatever excuse you can come up with to help satisfy your ego.

When your “Why” is strong enough you will keep plowing through.

Here is My “Why”

So I can create the financial freedom for myself and my family so we never have to worry about money.
So I can provide the same lifestyle for my family that my parents created for me and my siblings.
So I can look in the mirror every day and be proud of the person I am.
So my wife never has to compromise when she is buying something for herself.
So I can buy a family compound on a lake or ocean for generations to come.

Now here is the million dollar question. What if your “Why?” I challenge you to dig deep and really develop you WHY so you keep going until you reach your goal.

Giving You Life Away

My wife Nancy sang and spoke at a treatment center for women yesterday. This is what she had to say on her blog.

We all get chances to give our lives away.

Today I had an opportunity to share bits of my story and sing some of my songs in a very unique setting. I sang to the residents at the Trempealeau County Health Center. Just to look into their eyes, see their tears and smiles, I knew they knew and I felt their connection.

I sang “Rock me Jesus” a song I wrote back in the 90’s when I was in one of the darkest places of my life. As a little girl, I would escape into the safety of heaven and Jesus would rock me all through the night, yet what I wanted was my momma to keep me safe from all harm.

Visiting with some of the wonderful woman afterwards gave me a renewed appreciation for life, healing, hope and grace. I was able to share some of my survival skills with them and encourage them to love themselves.

There are so many walking wounded in this world that need what you have to give. I challenge you to take that risk and bless someone today and just give your life away.

I Am Statements

Most of us have heard of positive affirmations, goals or mission statements. If you really think back you do realize these work. So every year I have sat down and written my goals and what I want to achieve. That is until I joined Send Out Cards.

At a Treat Em Right seminar through Send Out Cards, I learned how to create my “I Am” statements. Your I Am Statements are your dreams, goals, and desires, all stated in the present.

This might sound funny but ever since I have remembered I have always said “I am a stud”. Now that might sound conceited but this is a tough world. We get knocked down every day. When I am going through a rough patch I always remember I am a stud. Changes my outlook everytime.

So recently I sat down and made my I Am statements for this year. I have borrowed some from my mentors that pertained to my life and I have created my own. I thought I would share them with everyone.

I am in God’s favor.
I am spiritually in tune.
I am a very successful, confident, extremely busy person who has something of incredible value in the market place.
I inspire people to live to their potential.
I am toned, stong, and in great shape.
I am a level 4 card sender.
I am helping others become senders of cards.
I am quickly building success units of three.
I am quickly building groups of 12 and showing others how to the same.
I am an inspirational and creative writer.
I am a best selling author.
I am an exceptional speaker.
I am passionate and entuhusiastic.
I am attracting the right people in my business.
I am attracting wealth in abundance.
I am financially independent.
I am playing a world wide game.
I am believing God for bigger and better things.
We are being assisted by God, being provided with special advantages and being given preferential treatment.
Everything I put my hands to prospers and succeeds.
We are enjoying our dream home on a lake.
We are living within 20 minutes of Sara and Michael.
We are as many vacations as we choose.
We are enjoying a romantic, passionate and happy marriage.
I am an Eagle.
