Spending Money - Do You Spend Money Foolishly or Do You Budget and Spend Money
How do you spend your money? Spontaneously or do you have a plan when you are about to spend your money?
When my wife and I first got married we were really pretty frugal with our money. We thought we had a game plan on what we wanted to accomplish? We bought our first home, put some money aside, and then we bought a lot on lake that we eventually lived on.
Then things really changed. We had our kids. Man we tried to budget and make wise decisions but what we really loved to do was spoil our kids. Now I’m not talking about being stupid but we bought things quicker than we did before we had our kids.
Anyway I read a blog the other day where they were talking about new technology and how they were not going to buy the new iPhone because they thought it just cost too much. Not a bad point but then I read the coolest comment. A girl commented that they did have the new iPhone and felt great about it because they budgeted and saved money to purchase it.
Holy cow. Isn’t that what I write about. That was the coolest thing I read in a long time.
My wife and I have Blackberry’s and feel really good about that because we budgeted for them. If watched her YouTube video on this site the other day we budgeted for the camcorder that we used to shoot the video also. Rather than going out and buying an expensive camcorder we bought the flip camcorder. Saved us at least $400.00 and don’t you think it put out a pretty video?
