We all get chances to give our lives away.

Today I had an opportunity to share bits of my story and sing some of my songs in a very unique setting. I sang to the residents at the Trempealeau County Health Center. Just to look into their eyes, see their tears and smiles, I knew they knew and I felt their connection.

I sang “Rock me Jesus” a song I wrote back in the 90’s when I was in one of the darkest places of my life. As a little girl, I would escape into the safety of heaven and Jesus would rock me all through the night, yet what I wanted was my momma to keep me safe from all harm.

Visiting with some of the wonderful woman afterwards gave me a renewed appreciation for life, healing, hope and grace. I was able to share some of my survival skills with them and encourage them to love themselves.

There are so many walking wounded in this world that need what you have to give. I challenge you to take that risk and bless someone today and just give your life away.

At a Treat Em Right seminar through Send Out Cards, I learned how to create my “I Am” statements. Your I Am Statements are your dreams, goals, and desires, all stated in the present.

This might sound funny but ever since I have remembered I have always said “I am a stud”. Now that might sound conceited but this is a tough world. We get knocked down every day. When I am going through a rough patch I always remember I am a stud. Changes my outlook everytime.

So recently I sat down and made my I Am statements for this year. I have borrowed some from my mentors that pertained to my life and I have created my own. I thought I would share them with everyone.

I am in God’s favor.
I am spiritually in tune.
I am a very successful, confident, extremely busy person who has something of incredible value in the market place.
I inspire people to live to their potential.
I am toned, stong, and in great shape.
I am a level 4 card sender.
I am helping others become senders of cards.
I am quickly building success units of three.
I am quickly building groups of 12 and showing others how to the same.
I am an inspirational and creative writer.
I am a best selling author.
I am an exceptional speaker.
I am passionate and entuhusiastic.
I am attracting the right people in my business.
I am attracting wealth in abundance.
I am financially independent.
I am playing a world wide game.
I am believing God for bigger and better things.
We are being assisted by God, being provided with special advantages and being given preferential treatment.
Everything I put my hands to prospers and succeeds.
We are enjoying our dream home on a lake.
We are living within 20 minutes of Sara and Michael.
We are as many vacations as we choose.
We are enjoying a romantic, passionate and happy marriage.
I am an Eagle.

It has become so easy to be have negative thoughts in this day and age. The economy is tough and so many people are being affected. We have wars and turmoil going on. If you read or listen to the media you are hit by a ton of negative things.

So how do you control your thoughts? Do you give in to the negative? I have found two things that help me. When I am being bombarded, I either read a book or listen to a CD that will inspire me.

I am reading Appreciation Marketing by Tommy Wyatt and Curtis Lewsey right now. As I was reading this book I came across a poem written by Terri McPherson in one the chapters. I hope you enjoy it.

Choosing a Response

My ability to respond to a world,
over which I have no control,
is a powerful gift.
If I crumble in the face of adversity,
I have chosen to be
weak and beaten down.
If I soar to the heights of happiness,
I have chosen to fly.
Situations will choose me,
But they will never own me.
How I react to them will always
Be a matter my own choice.

This poem really hit home to me. I am the only one in control of my thoughts.

So what can you do to control your thoughts? Here is my suggestion. Read positive and inspirational books. When you are driving in your car or working out, listen to positive and inspirational CD’s. Write down everything you are thankful for. Send a greeting card to someone and try to lift up their spirits.

I showered and shaved…………… I adjusted my tie.
I got there and sat………….. In a pew just in time.
Bowing my head in prayer………. As I closed my eyes.
I saw the shoe of the man next to me….. Touching my own.
I sighed.

With plenty of room on either side……. I thought, ‘Why must our soles touch?’
It bothered me, his shoe touching mine… But it didn’t bother him much.
A prayer began: ‘Our Father’………… I thought, ‘This man with the shoes, has no pride.
They’re dusty, worn, and scratched. Even worse, there are holes on the side!’

‘Thank You for blessings,’ the prayer went on.
The shoe man said………….. A quiet ‘Amen.’
I tried to focus on the prayer……. But my thoughts were on his shoes again.
Aren’t we supposed to look our best. When walking through that door?
‘Well, this certainly isn’t it,’ I thought, Glancing toward the floor.

Then the prayer was ended………. And the songs of praise began.
The shoe man was certainly loud…… Sounding proud as he sang.
His voice lifted the rafters……… His hands were raised high..

It was time for the offering……. And what I threw in was steep.
I watched as the shoe man reached…. Into his pockets so deep.
I saw what was pulled out……… What the shoe man put in.
Then I heard a soft ‘clink’ . As when silver hits tin.

The sermon really bored me……… To tears, and that’s no lie.
It was the same for the shoe man… For tears fell from his eyes.

At the end of the service…… As is the custom here.
We must greet new visitors, And show them all good cheer.
But I felt moved somehow………….. And wanted to meet the shoe man.
So after the closing prayer…….. I reached over and shook his hand.
He was old and his skin was dark….. And his hair was truly a mess.

But I thanked him for coming……… For being our guest.
He said, ‘My names’ Charlie……….. I’m glad to meet you, my friend.’
There were tears in his eyes……. But he had a large, wide grin.

‘Let me explain,’ he said…….. Wiping tears from his eyes.
‘I’ve been coming here for months…. And you’re the first to say ‘Hi. ”
‘I know that my appearance………’Is not like all the rest
‘But I really do try……………….’To always look my best.’
‘I always clean and polish my shoes..’Before my very long walk.
‘But by the time I get here………’They’re dirty and dusty, like chalk.’

My heart filled with pain………… And I swallowed to hide my tears.
As he continued to apologize……… For daring to sit so near
He said, ‘When I get here………..’I know I must look a sight.
‘But I thought if I could touch you..’Then maybe our souls might unite.’

I was silent for a moment………… Knowing whatever was said
Would pale in comparison… I spoke from my heart, not my head.
‘Oh, you’ve touched me,’ I said……’And taught me, in part;
‘That the best of any man………….’Is what is found in his heart.’

The rest, I thought,…………… This shoe man will never know.
Like just how thankful I really am… That his dirty old shoe touched my soul.

I too, at times, have felt a great hate for those that have taken so much, with no sorrow for what they do.

But hate wears you down, and does not hurt your enemy. It is like taking poison and wishing your enemy would die. I have struggled with these feelings many times.” He continued, “It is as if there are two wolves inside me. One is good and does no harm. He lives in harmony with all around him, and does not take offense when no offense was intended. He will only fight when it is right to do so, and in the right way.

But the other wolf, ah! He is full of anger. The littlest thing will set him into a fit of temper. He fights everyone, all the time, for no reason. He cannot think because his anger and hate are so great. It is helpless anger,for his anger will change nothing.

Sometimes, it is hard to live with these two wolves inside me, for both of them try to dominate my spirit.”

The boy looked intently into his Grandfather’s eyes and asked, “Which one wins, Grandfather?”

The Grandfather smiled and quietly said, “The one I feed.”

If you can buy a franchise you will spend thousands of dollars and basically buy yourself a job. You can start your own business, which usually takes a great idea and lots of money. Or you can take a look at network marketing.

If you are like me when you hear the work network marketing, you probably cringe. You might think network marketing is one of those pyramid schemes or maybe it is multi-level marketing.

Well pyramid schemes are illegal and if you have a job right now, you are in a multi-level marketing. Most companies have a CEO at the top, then he or she will have a couple people answering to them. Those people will have a layer of management under them and so on and so forth. The key is I have a very small chance of ever making the same kind of income the CEO does. That is not true in a network marketing company. You have control of how much money you are going to earn.

These are the reasons you should take a look at network marketing:

1. Network Marketing has a very low initial cost. Most network marketing companies have a start-up cost ranging from $100.00 to $1000.00.
2. In Network Marketing you have the opportunity to develop residual income. This is what is so appealing for network marketing. The longer you work your business, the more your income is going to be residual. Meaning your income is going to be coming to you whether you are working or not.
3. You can Leverage your income. When you work for yourself you can only work so many hours to create your income. In network marketing, you have a team of people working with you so you can exponentiate your income.
4. You make money by helping other people make money. So how cool is that. The only way to make big money is by helping other people. The more people you help create a successful business and income, the more money you make. In most network marketing companies, it does not take a million successful people. If you develop 4 to 5 leaders in your business, you will create a large residual income.
5. Your income is directly related to your own personal growth and self improvement. If you would interview the major money earners of any network marketing business they would tell you to read self improvement books. By working on yourself you build up your income.
6. You become part of a Team. One of the coolest feelings is when you are part of a team striving for a common goal. You develop personal relationships with people all over the world.
7. Speaking of all over the world. You can work from ANYWHERE. In most network marketing companies it does not matter where you work from. All you need is a phone and an internet connection. In most cases, you can even be relaxing on vacation and still have your business making money for you.

I have been in network marketing for a while now and the longer I am in the business the more thankful I become. I am not selling anything, I just share the opportunity. Some will, some won’t, so what, someone’s waiting.
